Global Recruitment Drive: 15+ Fully Funded International PhD Fellowships

Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), in partnership with the National Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics (NICPB) and 19 top-tier European research partners, has opened applications for over 15 fully funded PhD positions under the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) COFUND INNOCHEMBIO Programme.

This pan-European doctoral training initiative aims to shape the next generation of scientists driving the green transition—offering competitive salaries, international research placements, cutting-edge laboratories, and interdisciplinary projects across chemistry, biotechnology, nanotechnology, plant sciences, materials engineering, and environmental sustainability.


 Programme Highlights

  • Funding: Competitive package — €2,500+ gross/month, mobility allowance, optional family allowance.

  • Host Institutions: Primarily TalTech’s Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology, with select positions at NICPB.

  • International Exposure: Every position includes a secondment (6–16 months) at a partner university or research institute in another European country.

  • Research Areas:

    • Sustainable chemical synthesis (mechanochemistry, electrochemistry, catalytic innovations)

    • Plant molecular biology and crop stress tolerance

    • Artificial intelligence in chemical modelling and drug discovery

    • Circular economy approaches for mineral and industrial waste valorization

Candidate Profile

Applicants should have:

  • MSc or equivalent in chemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, materials science, environmental science, or related fields.

  • Excellent English (spoken & written).

  • Willingness to relocate to Estonia and comply with MSCA mobility rules (not having resided there >12 months in the past 3 years).

  • Strong research motivation, teamwork skills, and capacity for independent work.
