Are you passionate about early childhood development and personalized education? Brønnøy Municipality is hiring a permanent, full-time special education teacher to provide critical support for young children in both municipal and private kindergartens.

Role Summary

As part of the child and family services team, you will work across multiple kindergartens, supporting children who require special education assistance under Section 31 of the Kindergarten Act. The role may expand into primary education in the future, making adaptability a valued trait.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver special education services to children with support decisions

  • Develop and evaluate individual development plans in collaboration with kindergarten staff

  • Work systematically and knowledge-based to tailor learning for individuals and groups

  • Supervise and guide other kindergarten staff

  • Maintain strong communication with parents, colleagues, and external partners

  • Stay current in educational practices and accept professional guidance

Required Qualifications

  • Kindergarten or primary school teacher with special education training

  • A Bachelor’s in Special Education may be considered

  • Knowledge of digital tools and ICT in educational settings

  • Experience with the EIBI program is a plus

  • Strong teamwork, organizational, and communication skills

  • Must present a valid police certificate (issued within the last 3 months)

  • Norwegian language proficiency (minimum B2 level) required
