3-year PhD position in proteomics applied to GPCR signaling in cancer, CRCM, Marseille, France (Funded by Amidex)

Deadline : July 30, 2025
Join the “Membrane Proteomics and Cancer” team at CRCM for a 3-year PhD focused on GPCR signaling in breast cancer using cutting-edge mass spectrometry and proteomics tools, supported by A*midex.

Are you passionate about cancer research and proteomics? Aix-Marseille Université is offering a fully funded 3-year PhD position in the dynamic environment of the Cancer Research Centre of Marseille (CRCM). This exciting opportunity is part of the France 2030 investment plan, supported by the Initiative of Excellence (A*midex).

The selected candidate will explore the role of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) in breast cancer. The project involves cloning and expressing various GPCR isoforms in breast cancer cell lines, assessing their oncogenic properties, and developing targeted mass spectrometry methods to quantify proteoforms. It will further extend to advanced techniques like single-cell proteomics and use of in-house developed nanobodies for deeper characterization.

You’ll be collaborating with multiple research groups and the state-of-the-art Marseille Proteomics Platform (MAP). The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in cancer biology, cell biology, or biochemistry. While experience in protein biochemistry or mass spectrometry is a plus, it’s not mandatory.

The gross salary ranges from €2100 to €2200 per month. You’ll benefit from extensive support provided by the Euraxess Center of AMU, including visa assistance, accommodation help, and more.

This is a fantastic chance to develop your skills in cancer proteomics and contribute to breakthrough science in an interdisciplinary and supportive environment. Apply by 30 July 2025 and take your first step into a world of impactful cancer research.
