University Lecturer in Public Law at Uppsala University

Uppsala University is inviting applications for a full-time, permanent university lecturer position at the Faculty of Law, specializing in Public Law. As the oldest law faculty in the Nordic region, the faculty is home to a vibrant academic environment with deep historical roots and modern relevance.

The role includes coordinating and delivering education under the government-assigned mission on human rights (MR-uppdraget), including children’s rights. You will also be involved in teaching, research, and administrative tasks. The primary teaching responsibilities will relate to the MR project, but teaching on core courses such as Constitutional and Administrative Law may also be expected.

🎓 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate MR-uppdraget and children’s rights education programs
  • Teach and develop legal courses, including lectures, seminars, and course material
  • Conduct and supervise research in Public Law and Human Rights
  • Engage in administrative and leadership roles within the department
  • Apply for external research funding and collaborate across disciplines

✅ Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Law or equivalent academic competence
  • Completed teaching and pedagogical training (or willingness to complete within 2 years)
  • Ability to teach and communicate fluently in both Swedish and English

🔍 Assessment Criteria

Applicants will be evaluated based on scientific and pedagogical excellence equally. Priority will be given to candidates with experience and research in Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, and Human Rights. Proven leadership, research project management, and teaching development skills are highly desirable.
